Got up late today.  Just could not get moving.  It is cold, about 40 and raining.  A good day to stay under the covers.  By the webcam at the Hog's Breath it is a glorious 81.  Looking at Sunset Pier it looks like a storm is moving in.  Looks like they moved the stage there last night.  I also meant to mention that it I do not see the yellow garbage cans in front of Sloppy Joe's.

I re-worked my resume and am going to give that a try.  So far I am not having much luck but I have to keep in the back of my mind that the job market is horrible and for someone my age it is worse than that.

I played the Lotto last night.  $540 Million.  No one hit it.  It will probably be around $600 Million on the next drawing.  The media makes it look like that there are lines around the block to get a ticket.  I've never seen that here.  Maybe one or two ahead of me once in a while no matter how large the jackpot it.  Gotta love the NY media.

The rest of the day I am thinking about doing some cleaning and going through a lot of things.  Make room and re-organize.  Something to keep my mind off of not having a job.

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday.  We are drawing a close to Lent.  I am not one for following Lent for I do not like anyone telling me what to eat and when.  And it is no sin to eat meat on Friday's.  It it was  a sin then why did the Cardinal say it was OK to eat corned beef on St. Patty's Day several years ago?  I am no theologian but I've never seen that eating meat on any Friday is a sin.  But there are those in the house that like to follow Lent to the letter.  So that is my suffering which will soon be over.

This year the snow has been very good, not much at all and after next week I can say that the snow season is officially over.  Why next week?  I remember a blizzard in the first week of April a few years ago.

Anyway, I have to get moving.
'till next time.
Friday was very busy for me around the house.  That is why I am so very late in my post.

It was in the low 60's here and in the 80's at the Hog's Breath.

I had a wonderful lunch with the woman I used to work with.  I missed her a lot.  If I wasn't married I would consider dating her full time.

I finally heard from a woman that works at the company.  She apologizes for not writing sooner.  Her son was ill and she had some time off.  She lost her husband two year ago in a tragic accident.  Shame.  But she is holding up OK.  She is real cute too and great personality.

Looking a the webcam from Sloppy Joe's I saw some guy in a red cape riding up and down Duval Street.  I was able to get a screen capture of it.

I viewed the cam at Schooner Wharf and there was this guy with a long beard and he had a Cockatoo on his shoulder.  A woman was busy snapping photos of him and the bird as if she never saw a Cockatoo before.   Then again to her it might be unusual.  You can see him and the bird on the lower right with the screen capture below.

Going to Mallory Square the screen capture shows the beauty of the sunset and the lights coming on below.

Using this same technique I found a few webcams in East Egg.  The first is from one of the yacht clubs scanning the bay.  You will see there are no boats in the water while in Key West boats seem to never leave the water.

Finally from the town dock.  Again no boats and only three cars. One of the workers there got her job all because daddy was the police commissioner.  Her application for the job was bumped up above the others that were there.  I spoke to one of the constables that drive the patrol boat and they do not like her in the least or how daddy got her the job.

Anyway those are a few screen captures of where I wish I was and from where I am.  Thanks to "Conch Scooter" for this idea.

Anyway it is almost 1AM and I need to get some shut eye in.
'till next time.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Sunday it is 47 and overcast here.  I had to run an errand at 6:30AM and it started to drizzle a bit.  Yuk.  We had to kick in the heat and it was weird for we had it off for about 2 weeks already.  Looking at the webcam at the Hog's Breath is was 76 and a light breeze was blowing.  The cam as Sloppy Joe's showed it was clear.  Going to Mallory Square I saw only a few clouds.  It look like another great day in the Keys.

Yesterday I was watching the cam at Sunset Pier.  OK they were hopping with business.  Later that day the cam was in a different position.  Are they mixing it up a bit?  Then last night the cam was back in it's normal position.  Guess someone bumped it.

Looking at Mallory Square I watched a cruise ship dock.  I am so used to see tug boats push ships into dock here in NY.  But there they had two tenders grab the lines and bring them to shore.

Today I am thinking about targeting a few Florida job sites.  I hope one of them lands me a job in the Keys.  I know that there are some problems as compared to here, like the local flooding when there is a high tide, houses on stilts with small to no yards at all except in the high end areas, and loads of bars, no industry except hospitality (so far from what I've seen) but each time I look at the cams (wish there were more folks) I really would love to be there.

I think the blogs I read from there don't help much either.  The photos from Key West Diary are great and really makes me want to pack up now.

After hitting the Florida sites I have no choice but to work on New York - Yuk.

We were talking about the results of Whitney's autopsy.  A real crying shame.  She was stoned, most likely passed out, fell into the tub and drowned.  This should be a wake up call.  How many stars were killed by drugs?  She was not the first and unfortunately will not be the last.  We need better programs to help these people and tougher laws to impose on dealers.  But that will not happen unless Washington takes a firm hard core stand against drugs instead of being so candy-assed about it.

I've been putting this one chore off...taxes.  Going to have to work on them later today and into the week.  A total waste of time, all that paperwork.   I don't understand something, they took the money from us already and have it in their banks and they want us to tell them how much they took or should have?  Does not make sense.  Look, just take the tax money and leave me alone.  No amount of paperwork we do will change it.

Anyway, I need to get moving.
'till next time.

Friday, March 23, 2012

Yesterday was taken up with running errands.  Took the car in for routine service like oil change, tire rotation, inspection and what have you.  The remainder of the day was running all over the place.  Real excitement.

The late afternoon and into the evening I spent taking the telescope apart for repairs.  I looked everywhere on line and could not find any manuals or instructions even from the manufacturer themselves.  So I went at it flying blind taking photos every step of the way not only to document how to put it back together, but I figured that I will post some instructions.  Never know if someone else will have he same problem.

Today I went to the employment center on the south shore.  What a waste of time but I had to do it for unemployment reasons plus you never know.  They offered computer classes.  Not to get excited now but these are basic MS Word and Excel classes.  Errr you think that I need that?  There are a few things there that might be interesting to follow up with but I will need to dig into it deeper.

On the way home I went through an industrial park nearby and took down the names of several companies there.  I will research them on the net and target them with a resume.

Later today it is more resume sending.  Oh the fun of it all.

Right now at lunch time it is about 58 outside and sunny with a light breeze.  In where I want to live and work, Key West, it is 79 sunny and a light breeze by the Hog's Breath webcam.  Looking at Sloppy Joe's webcam Duval Street was quiet but I know that will change quickly.  Back to the Green Parrot I see that they moved the bar cam again and went back to poor resolution.  What happened?

'till next time

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Woke up to a light fog last night.  They did forecast fog but nothing so light.  It was gone this morning and the ground was wet as if there was a drizzle.

I went to bed at 11:30 last night and a neighbor who is a cop was home for supper or as they say 'meal.'  You could tell for he bring home the patrol car.  And like some cops he thinks he is above the law and parked on the wrong side of the street.  You are not suppose to do that on personal time.  I got up at 2:30 AM to go to the bathroom and looked out the window and the patrol car never moved.  What kind of a break do these guys get?  We so happen to have one of the highest paid police departments in the country.  NYC PD earns their money the hard way and do not get paid what they are worth.  But these guys around here???  Fergit about it.

Right now it is 56 here and overcast.  The forecast for today is overcast then partly cloudy and into the mid 60's.

Looking at the cam at Sloppy Joe's the sun is out in full force.  At the Hogs Breath it is a wonderful 77.  Nice.

I saw that they moved the crowd cam back to the roof of Sloppy Joe's.  It was there for a long time and had horrible resolution.  Then they moved it across the street aimed at the bar for a few months. That cam had decent images.  Now they out it back on the roof and the images are worse than ever.  You can hardly make anything out.

Speaking of Key West cams, I see that the Green Parrot moved their bar cam.  Most Likely with a new one for the images are pretty clear.  All in all like I posted earlier the web designers can do an overall better job with the cams for the images are pretty small and when you right click and zoom to full screen the resolution goes to hell real fast.

Today I have to go back to the resume thing.  More research and more research and hitting the companies.  I hope this does not take too long but I know of a woman that was fired from my place for her age last year and she still cannot find work.  And she and I are the same age so that really does not help my outlook.

Not much more to say today, pretty quiet start and yesterday was no thriller.

I still wish for a computer support job down in the Keys.

'till next time.

Monday, March 19, 2012

Another day of being unemployed is almost over.  I sent out a dozen resumes today from some jobs sites.  Nothing was too interesting in the Sunday papers.  I also posted again on Craig's List for a job in the Keys.  You never know.

It was about 70 here today with 80 at the Hogs Breath.  And they were hopping.  They forecast that tomorrow will have rain.  Thursday it should be 80 here.  But I would rather 80 in Key West any day.

I had to go into the attic to put the heavy coats away and the wasps were out.  One of them went after me.  But that didn't last too long for there was a can of spray that I blasted them with.  In the spring and summer our attic gets filled with those vile creatures.

We opened the rest of the windows here to let in fresh air.  Along with the air comes the sounds of what I call the pocket rockets.  These are small cars that have been modified for street racing.  You can hear them miles away with their loud high pitched exhaust noise.

When I was younger we had real muscle cars on the road with the deep throaty sounds of blue printed 305 Chevy's, 454's, 427's, 409's , 426 Hemi's, 351's, 302's and the rest of the great iron.

Unlike the kids of today, we never raced through neighborhoods and were respectful of those around us and on the road.  Today you get cut off by these idiots who only think they know how to drive.

I was in contact with a friend who was fired from the company two weeks before me.  He is not having a good go of it either.  But he an I agree that at least we can get a few things done around the house.  He finally is agreeing to the fact that it was all age discrimination.  Amazing that companies can get away with it.

Tonight is movie night.  Wonder what we will watch?

I still yearn for that job in the Keys.

'till next time

Sunday, March 18, 2012

Woke up to a cold 45 degrees this morning. The sky is overcast and they say rain on Monday. It is to go into the 60's today.

We got back from church and I see that it is a wonderful 80 at the Hogs Breath.  Outside of Sloppy Joe's it looks fantastic.

Have to get the Sunday papers and hit the ads there. I am not too confident with them but all it takes is just one.

Corned beef yesterday, lots of it. This year it was very salty and I had trouble getting it down. Lately with each year the beef seems to change. The last two years it was very fatty. This year salty. Not good for someone who likes corned beef.

Saw two of my nieces after mass.  They both came running and gave us flying tackles.  They are real cute kids.  They both wanted to be tickled so who am I not to give them a good tickle?

We stopped by the water front on the way home and watched the sailboats from one of the yacht clubs in a race.  Someone on the committee boat loved blowing an air horn.  I would have loved to toss the horn and the horn blower overboard.

We saw some moorings out already so it will not be long now before the water is filled with boats once again.    First one or two boats and next thing you know boats everywhere.  Not long now.

Anyway not too much to say today except I really wish I had a computer support job down in the Keys right now.

'till next time.

Friday, March 16, 2012

The job fair was a total waste of my time and energy.  Insurance sales jobs and that was that.  Oh there were a few low end positions with a few places but flipping burgers would have been better.  But you never know.

I did get a lead from one of the recruiting websites that sends me notices.  So I sent out a copy of the resume to them as well.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

In the morning the sky was over cast and chilly out side.  At Sloppy Joe's I saw rain and the Hogs Breath showed it was 71.  When I got home the weather the was still nasty here.  Looking at the webcam at Sloppy Joe's the sun came out in full force.  Wish I was there.

I follow Key West Lou's blog from time to time and he mentions that the pythons are coming to
Key West.  That would ruin the whole area in my opinion.  I really say that the state of Florida should take a firm stand and make it open season on these invaders with no bag limit and eradicate the entire species once and for all.  There should be no limit in how you dispatch these snakes - snare, .22, .357, 12 ga, .30-06, .223, you get the idea.  Shoot them with whatever is handy.  Maybe even put a bounty on them. say $100 per kill or a better incentive, for each confirmed kill the person gets so much off their property taxes that year.

So far no one else from the company has reached out to me.   In a way it kind of hurts.  You work with several people for such a long time and think that you built up some kind of relationship only to find out that it might not have been there in the first place.  I'm not too surprised thou.  In a lot of places once you leave for one reason or another the people left behind do not want to know you any more.

Today it is in the mid 40's here with rain.  At the Hog's Breath 71 and looking at Sloppy Joe's they just came out of a good dose of rain for the sun is coming out.

Anyway I've got to go back at it.  I am not getting a paycheck this way.

'till next time.

Thursday, March 15, 2012

It was crystal clear last night. So I set up the scope for the first time in about a year. I saw Venus cut in half. by the shadow, the bands of Jupiter ans it's moons, the Orion nebula, Pelades, a few open and closed clusters and of course Mars. It was great.

A neighbor next to us lights up the entire yard with a spot light that they have by one of their doors and usually leaves it on all night long. Last night they turned it off around 8:30 which was great. Thank You!

I printed up some resumes and am headed to a job fair or what I like to call a 'cattle call'. They are a real waste or time and energy and I think this one is not going to be much better. Looking at the list of who is going to be there, most are insurance companies looking for sales people. One travel agency, the Army (at my age?), and a food delivery trucking firm. Not much to pick from.

One of the companies their is an investment firm. I found them on the net and didn't see any job openings. So I sent them a resume anyway, never know. The owner called me in response to the resume. Great. He was not hiring at all. He is at the job fair to sell his services only. A real low blow. That should not be allowed.

I am getting rejection notices by email already.  That hurts and I think that is going to be the hard part to swallow.

It is 45 here and cloudy.  Looking at the Hogs Breath webcam it is 72 and raining.  At Sloppy Joe's you can see it is very wet there. Better that than snow.

One of the people from the old job wrote, they are all scared now.  Who is next for the chopping block and those that are worried the most are the older workers.  They are now seeing that the company is getting rid of people over 45 years old.  What is stopping the class action law suits is a provision in the separation agreement stating you cannot go after them for age discrimination.  You have to sign off on this if you want to get your package.  But like I have said in the past, the EEOC is nothing more than a paper tiger anyway.

Time to get going to the cattle call.

'till next time

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Gorgeous day yesterday, the weather was near perfect!  I saw flowers popping out of the ground in full bloom.  They sounds of leaf blowers are around as with the geese returning.  Spring is almost here.  But in Key West at the Hog Breath it was a wonderful 79.

This morning it is 55 here and 71 at the Hogs Breath.  From Sloppy Joe's it looks like someone went overboard with a fire hose on the street.  I see that there have been yellow garbage cans there for several days.

I sent out several resumes to places I found on the net.  One of them responded.  I will need to look into the company to find out more about them then give them a call later this morning.

I reached out to the people I wanted to keep in touch with at my old job.  They started to block my email address but not fast enough for me to fire off a few emails.

A few people responded giving me their private email addresses.  I wouldn't want to send them personal email on their company addresses.  Speaking on the phone with a woman that was fired just before me (and she is over 45 also, hint, hint, hint) told me not to expect too many responses.  People there are afraid for their jobs and with the way my former boss is being a loose cannon I can understand that.

My wife tells me that since I was canned, that I look more relaxed and younger.  Guess the stress from the one boss was that much of a burden.  The job was detrimental to my health, at least she was.

The rest of the day I spent working around the house doing some spring cleaning with my wife.  Not a chore we look forward to but at least I have some time on my hands to help out a bit.  more of that is in store for today.

I found out how to bring back and use the old Blogger Interface!!!  I like it much better than the new one.

On my job search I think for about an hour I will comb 411.com for places in the Keys and cold canvas them.  First find them on the net then shoot them a resume and cover letter.  The cover letter has to be a sales pitch to get them interested in me.  I think I'll try that angle.  Then to target this area.

Anyway it is time to get going on the days events.  I still wish I was in the Key right now.

'till next time

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Had to go into the office yesterday to take care of some final paperwork.  The HR person treated me like a common criminal and demanded that I make an appointment to come back later.  Told her we need to do this now and I will not be back.  She had no other choice.

While in the lobby, she ushered people away from me as if I had some kind of disease.  Talk about rude.  Guess I am not allowed to say goodbye to anyone.  After all these years of loyal service.

One person passed by me and he would not even look at me.  Just gave me the look of disgust.  And here it is we had lunch on a regular basis.  Then again it is well known that he has no back bone and would rather hide in his office.

He told me one day that Key West is the gay capital of the nation.  I highly doubt that.  Granted it might have a cluster of people that are gay there, but so does Fire Island, Greenwich Village, Providence Town, and many other places across the country.  But the capital?  Give me a break.  Even if it was, so what?

I spoke to a friend that they fired as well and she was over 45 also and she pointed out that I should not take it too bad for being snubbed.  Those people were probably afraid for their jobs as well and didn't want that vindictive former boss of mine to go after them.

I did speak with a lawyer and there is not much that can be done about the age discrimination.  It takes loads of money to fight something like that and they will only get out of it in the end.  Plus the EEOC is a paper tiger.  Nice to be in New York.

Great weather outside.  We opened the windows of the house to get some air in and get the winter smells out.  I even saw some buds on a few trees today.  Spring is right around the corner.

This morning it was 54 and it looks like it should be a nice week ahead weather wise.   At the Hogs Breath it is already 76.

I sent out a few resumes already this morning.  I am going to try and keep up the steam on it.

Anyway, I have to get going on the job search,

'till next time.

Monday, March 12, 2012

This is the first day without a paycheck or having to rush into work.  It is not a good feeling, not by a long shot.  I need to come up with a game plan in how to attack this.  And with the way ageism is today, I will need to be aggressive to hell and back.

A lot of ideas in the back of the head.  A makeover so to speak to hide my age.  More on that later.  Rework my resume, create a rough schedule as to when to do things.  Must include "me time", that is take an hour and work out a bit, go for a walk or something along those lines.

Today I have to go in to see my lawyers first.  I need to talk over the situation with them.  I did get an email from one of the lawyers at the company acting as a friend and not as an attorney, he and I used to B.S. all the time, and he advises not to speak to a lawyer.  Why?

One of the other staff members called last night and she was beside herself in grief over what happened.  I am sure others are like that there as well.  I know that there are a few, one or two not including the idiot are happy that I am gone.  Real pieces of work.

Vendors have come to me and have said that my boss was the most unprofessional executive that they have ever met.  She uses the 'F' word like water, makes people duck under their desks, has made racial comments, demands that you jump when she speaks.  Makes you wonder how she got so far.  Probably by being a bully.

One of the reasons that the New York State Healthy Workplace Bill needs to be signed into law.  To put a stop to people like her.  It would be nice if it would be retroactive.

It is 48 here now and 75 in the Keys.  It is going to hit the mid 60's here and I bet near 80 where I would love to be.  Any computer jobs down there?

I've been toying with an idea and that is to take a tour, street by street of Key West through Google Streetview and post what I find.  Especially since I saw that there are more bars than you could ever imagine.  Might be an interesting read.  It would not be all at once of course, but maybe a street or two every other post?  Have to remember that I have no idea how old the images are on Google Streetview.

Anyway, time to get up and get started on my first day on being unemployed.

'till next time

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Today the clocks were moved up 1 hour.  A normal facet of life that we do every year.  The news media seems to make a big deal over it.  Guess that is because they have nothing better to do.

It is supposed to be a nice day here, in the mid 60's.  But I still would rather be in the Keys regardless.

I had a call from a former co-worker who learned about my termination.  He was beside himself with grief.  Even he sees that they are getting rid of everyone over 45.  He says that it is now a matter of time before he gets it.

There is no denying that the company is practicing age discrimination.  In the separation agreement in big bold capitalized letters they want me to agree not to go after them for age discrimination.  How much of a confession do you want?  But still I will need an attorney to go over it in any case.  It may pay just to sign off on it to get the pathetic package instead of court battles that can last years.

I reached out to a few contact that I dealt with on a routine basis and now they are turning their back to me.  Guess they do not want to be associated with a person that brought them loads of money over the years after being terminated.  Is that loyalty or what?  Welcome to New York.

Talking with some friends we all agree now comes the black balling, they will blame me for anything and everything.  Even my idiot assistant could get things done right, like something simple like inventory.  I am sure they will blame me for that as well.  I've seen this before at other jobs.  When a person is let go, they blame what ever they can on them and I've seen some places make up stuff and falsify things just so they can get back at the discharged person.  I would not doubt this place would do that as well.

Today I move forward on getting my game plan in order.  Concentrate heavily on targeting companies to send my resume out to, look for job fairs (although to me they are a waste of time), comb places like Craig's List and what have you.  I will have to set aside several hours a day and allocated them just for the purpose.  An hour in the papers, an hour on job boards and what have you.

One thing that needs to be done, there is a bill in the state lobby called the Healthy Workplace Law.  It is designed to stop bullying in the workplace by bosses like what I've had to deal with.  I urge anyone and everyone in New York to write to their local legislator and demand that the bill be put into law.  There is no reason why an employee needs to fear for their jobs from a tyrant.

'till next time

My job has ended

Yesterday as soon as I walked into the office my nasty boss called me into her office and had the HR lapdog join us. Next thing you know I was terminated after six years of hard working and loyal service. The official reason, and this is to keep them out of court is that they have outsourced my department. The truth is that they replaced me with my idiot assistant who is half my age.

He did say he wanted my job. And the CEO and my boss did say they wanted me to train him to be my replacement a few months back. Earlier when the CEO started he held a company wide meeting and did say the he wanted to bring in young blood to replace the older people that were there.

The package given was pathetic at best. If I sign it, I waive my right to go after them for age discrimination and for the slanderous remarks the idiot said about me. If I do not sign it, I will lose everything including the COBRA. I am going to have to talk to a lawyer next week.

I was not allowed to say goodbye to anyone afterwards. But I did get the chance to see a few people in the downstairs lobby. The tears started to flow. One woman did say that this is the beginning of the end of the company. This year alone I was the sixth person over 45 that was terminated. More while follow, so she was right.

I was not too surprised by what happened. The hand writing was on the wall a long time ago. I already cleared out my desk. Now all the is left is for them to accept the return of company property and sign off on that. They also have to remove my software from their systems as well. I already transferred the one of the applications that was in my name to them and when done cc'd HR and the company lawyer.

Anyway I could not sleep last night and I've been up since 2AM. So time to get started with my extended vacation and make looking for a new job a full time job.  I really would love to be able to land a computer support / network engineering one in the Keys.  Right now there does not seem to be any there.

'till next time.

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

I made it through another day. Each day there is a day more of pay. But I am sure it will not be long before I get fired.

My assistant, the guy that is after my job has been making one big mistake after another. I have to clean Ou his mess for if I tell him to do it all I get is smart mouth.

Now HR is checking up on me to see if I am doing my job. You can really tell that they are out for me.

Stopped at the food store on the way in. Some woman was parked in the handicapped spot, taking up two spots and she did not have a pass. I asked her to move and she refused saying that she was waiting for someone. No sense in calling the police, they don't do anything anyway.

Right in front of my house is a stop sign. If I got a nickle for each car that drove through it I could retire in a week. What is sad is that a cop lives two doors down and he drives through the stop sign in his personal car.

Anyway, I am going to make this short. I am tired.

'till next time.

60's in the Keys

I looked at the webcam at the Hogs Breath this morning. In the 60's. We are in the low 40's. The 60's for the Keys might be cold for them, but I'd take that over the 40's any day.

I have to ask the state officials of Florida something, if you have the problem with pythons the why a limited hunting season of only 1 month? I would think that it should be open season all year round with no bag limit. That way you not only can bring the problem under control, but have a good shot of eradicating the species before they do more damage.

I made it through another day of that hell hole yesterday. My boss overruled all of my decisions in a meeting. The hand writing is on the wall in bright neon pink letters, that is for sure. Every day that I last there is one more day of pay. There is no future there anymore.

The word is getting out about the CEO firing his assistant. Everyone is in shock. With the comments he makes you better believe he is going to replace her with a young twit. Can we say 'class action'?

We got rid of cable for the TV. I was too expensive. So we went to rabbit ears for digital TV. Horrible! The channels when they come in are all pixelated and the sound is choppy. We are not the only ones with that problem. Getting rid of the old analog broadcasts was a big mistake. This only helps to prove that the cable and satellite TV providers have a lot of control in government. By the way, friends say that satellite is not much better when it is bad weather outside.

Anyway, time to get ready to put up with that place again.

'till next time.

Another Monday

Another Monday is here, oh the joy of it. Time to get ready to go into that hell hole of a job. Found out yesterday that the CEO has wanted to outsource my department since before December. Nice. Also found out that the disaster recovery people who put the software on our systems that messed everything up is out to get rid of me as well. They are in bed with the company that my boss hired. Can we say kick back?

My office is empty now. I took everything home, even my coffee cup. It is down to a matter of hours.

Applied to three places last night on line line, I hope one of them will bring me in. I'd love that. I would walk off the job right then and there. Give them my keys and go. No 2 week notice. Love to see their faces then. But I don't think that will happen very fast, but you never know.

The company did open itself up for a class action, but the problem there is to get every on board and to find the right lawyer to take on the case. That would be sweet
.
I spoke to a friend that the company fired while he aw on vacation. He is in denial. He still thinks that my boss who fired him his is best friend. I told him he needs to see a lawyer. His wife said the same thing too. But he is so confused by what happened, poor guy. He needs a reality check.

Cold today. Last night I saw that he temp at the Hogs Breath was only 66. Rig now I think we are at the 40's. Warm for this time of year. All winter it has been mild.

Anyway, I need to get ready to face he crap. My chest is hurting, my guts are twisted up...

My last day at work is soon

The job has been going to hell fast. A disaster recovery company put software on our servers for back up and it has been causing all kinds of problems. My idiot assistant has been telling my boss that the servers are failing and she believes him. Mind you he has no experience in a network environment. So she went out behind my back and hired some consulting firm who sold her virtualization which we do not need. They told her it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

But what she fails to realize is that it will cost close to $200,000 or more to do. Plus for our size firm there is no need for it. They played her like a fish.

She sent me an email telling me, who is in charge of the network, hands off the servers. Guess my days are very limited. I am going to seek out legal counsel later this week.

The CEO fired his assistant Friday because she was too old. He wants a 30 year old. The one he fired was about 45. I hope she goes after him with a lawyer.

Read that they have found a few pythons in the Keys. Not good. Fla should make it open season on them. The pythons have done a lot of damage and can be man killers. These snakes have been seen swimming 6 miles off shore. The entire specifies should be eradicated from the United States. They serve no good.

New York has a bill pending, the Healthy Workplace Law. It is to stop bullying like what I have been going through at work from my boss. If you are a reader from NY, I urge you to write to your legislator and demand that the bill be made into law.

It is Sunday, time to go to church and get going.

A sad day

Yesterday Davy Jones of the Monkeys passed away at the age of 66. I grew up watching their TV show. It was corney, goofy and silly. But it was not violent and it was pure good fun. We will miss Davy.

The job is going south faster than anything. I had many knives shoved into my back by my boss and by some moron vendor who wants to use us as a cash cow. Not good. So I doubt that I will be here much longer.

I sent out more resumes last night, one responded back that the job was filled. To bad it would have been nice. A job down in the Keys. This was the first computer job that I saw down there. At least I gave it a shot.

We had another one give in her notice. That makes 5 within a month that have left the company. 4 were fired and 1 quit. The one that tended her resignation was being pushed out anyway. They hired a young woman and they were giving her the work the first woman did. The one that quit was over 45. The new one, under 30. All in line with what the CEO wants, young people to run the company. So far everyone that has left were all over the age of 45.

It was a rainy day this morning but now it is clearing up. They forecast more rain through the weekend. Good time to get some well earned sleep. I am going to make sure my phones are turned off all weekend.

Anyway I need to get to work. My boss is gunning for me and I do not want to give her anymore ammo.

'till next time.
